About Wilma.

Wilma is the creative force behind Travel'Art.

Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, she relocated with her family to Lambton County in 2011. Although she explored various artistic paths over the years, it was in 2020 that she fully committed to her art journey, challenging herself to master pastel painting. The vibrant colors and unique textures of pastels drew her in, leading her to focus on contemporary pieces that celebrate local landscapes and seascapes. Wilma has participated in several exhibitions, showcasing her original works and in local galleries and businesses, with waves being a recurring theme inspired by Lake Huron. In September 2023, she achieved a significant milestone by winning the Panel's Choice Award at the

ART COMP in London, Ontario, marking a pivotal moment in her career.

"Over the years I tried various art forms, but pastels captured my heart instantly. Despite being a neat and organized person, I find fulfillment in getting covered in colours while working with this "messy" medium.

I find inspiration for my realistic landscape & seascape paintings in the beauty that surrounds us, particularly in water sources such as lakes and oceans.

I am drawn to the blue color palette and the movement of waves. While many pastel artists prefer a looser style,

I take pride in the intricate details of my work."
