About Wilma
Originally from Frankfurt, Germany, Wilma Mehl relocated with her family to Lambton County in 2011. Although she explored various artistic paths over the years, it was in 2020 that she fully committed to her art journey, challenging herself to master pastel painting. The vibrant colors and unique textures of pastels drew her in, leading her to focus on representative pieces that celebrate local landscapes and seascapes. Wilma has participated in several exhibitions, showcasing her original works and in local galleries and businesses, with waves being a recurring theme inspired by Lake Huron.In September 2023, she reached a major milestone by winning the Panel's Choice Award at the ART COMP in London, Ontario, marking a turning point in her career. This success was followed by several more awards and her first solo exhibition in 2025.
